Step up your skincare game

So, you cleanse, tone, moisturize repeat? Great stuff! But you can still step it up notch with your skincare regime. Here is what you can do to get glowing skin that will stick around……

  • Include AHA’s and BHA’s in your products. You can find these in Cleansers, toners, serums and masks. If you aren’t familiar with these two hero ingredients you can read about them AHA's here and BHA's here.
  • You can ROLL your skin at home with a cosmetic needle. This makes the skin stimulate more collagen and elastin production in the lower layers, and helps the absorption of products such as serums go deeper into the skin. Read more about the benefits here.
  • PEELS- You can invest in a course of chemical peels for your skin and no don’t worry you will not look like a burn victim. Peels these days don’t have much downtime and you can do them in your lunch break. They are fantastic to shed away dead skin cells sitting on top of the skin, renewing the skin and adding a super glow.
  • LED light therapy (light emitting diodes) - This treatment is a quick one, you lay under the bright led light for 15-20 mins and have your skin rejuvenated. LED light therapy is seriously energizing to the cells in the lower layer of the skin. Stimulating blood flow, hydration and collagen and elastin in the skin. A fantastic boost for all skin types.
  • MASKS- Add a face mask with AHA’s into your routine once a week. Sleep with it on over night or leave on for as long as possible.
  • FOOD- always play close attention to the foods you are eating as our skin is our second stomach. No matter what you put on your face or how much you spend on products, nothing will help unless your diet is in full swing. Eating lots of whole foods, protein, omegas, veg and fruit and of course drinking buckets of water 2 liters a day.
  • SERUMS- If you don’t own a serum yet and you are in your 20’s, go out and invest in one. Serums are the power house of skin care products. Serums hold the most active ingredients because there molecule size is very small so these active ingredients can get deeper into the skin. Serums are what can dramatically change the skin from within, activating the skin cells. 

*The products pictured above are what I am currently using on my skin. I got sent an amazing package all the way from Environ Skincare head quarters in South Africa a few weeks ago and 2 products I could not wait to try were the Revival Masque and DFP Peptide serum. I use this roller x1 week. The Murad eye masks really hydrate the skin under the eyes.
