Toners… What are they and do we really need them?

5 things you need to know about TONERS….

  • There are different types of toners to use for various skin types. Hydrating toners that everyone can use to help keep hydration in the skin.
  • Astringent toners with AHA's in them for oily and breakout prone skin to help clear up excess oil in the skin.
  • Toning is the second step in skincare, it can be done after cleansing and before putting on serums and moisturizers.
  • Toners help to remove any remains on the skin and they help to prepare the skin for further absorption of products.
  • Toning is not the most important step in skincare, if you had to choose between a serum and toner I would 100% go for the serum because it’s a more active product. But toners are nice to use every now and then and its very good to use an astringent one if you have breakout/acne skin.

Pictured above is my 2 current toners. I spritz the Dermalogica Multi-active toner on my skin whenever I can throughout the day. It helps keep hydration in the skin. Great for all skin types. I use the Beau Caire Toner everyday after I cleanse and before I put on my serum.

Do you use a toner? Which one is your favourite?

Next week Serums!!! Stay tuned!
