Easy Morning Skin-care Routine

You’re skin care regime doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as easy as you want it to be. Just make sure you have one, and your products are good quality. Remember, its not about what ‘everyone’ is using – its about using the correct ingredients for your skin type. If you are unsure then have your skin analysed in a professional skin clinic and invest in good quality products. Most of the products I use I buy from my work (Blush Beauty and Skin Clinic in Amsterdam), and some products are gifted to me by brands. I always recommend to buy skin care products either from a skin clinic/Dermatologist or pharmacy, purely because the ingredients are of better quality than what you find in the supermarket.

Okay, lets get to it! Here is my morning skin routine;

I use this Skin Ceuticals blemish and age cleansing gel in the mornings and I LOVE it! It has salycilic acid and glycolic acid so it is penetrating the skin to deeply clean the pores. My skin feels amazing after it and because of the acids in it, the rest of my products like serum and moisturiser work better into the skin.
 *TIP; Work the cleanser into your skin for atleast 1 minute before washing it off and always use lukewarm water.

I like to tone after cleansing to remove any residue of cleanser on the skin, and it helps to re-balance the normal p H level in the skin. There are different types of toners but because my cleanser has acids in it and would be considered an ‘’active cleanse’’, I then use a gentle toner.
*TIP; Apply toner to the skin with damp cotton pads.

To me eye products are super important because I have extremely thin skin and of course the eye area is the one that shows up lines and wrinkles quickest. At the moment I am using this AVST eye gel from Environ. Which has vitamin A and antioxidants. It feels nice and light on the skin.
*TIP: apply eye products with ring finger and work around the eye bone.

This is my favourite skin care step. Serums go the deepest in the skin, because there molecule size is smaller than creams. So for problematic skins, or ageing skins, serums are a MUST! I use the C E Ferulic antioxidant serum from Skin Ceuticals and it is like liquid gold. I did a blog post all about it here.  Serums are going to work at a cellular level in the skin and really make changes in the active layers of the skin. This antioxidant one in particular works well together with SPF to fight the free radicals.
*TIP; Use a serum with active ingredients to get the best results with your skin.

If your makeup doesn’t have SPF in it then make sure your moisturiser does. This NeoStrata moisturiser has been great for during the day for me. it has anti redness ingredients and it has helped calm my skin aswel as keep it feeling hydrated.
*TIP; Change your moisturiser in summer and winter.

Daylight is present 365 days of the year. Rain, sleet or snow. UV rays are what cause the most damage and changes to our skin. So if you want to have good skin, wear an SPF everyday.
*TIP; Only use an SPF that says both UVA and UVB protection.
