Let it Glow

December 19, 2017

It's Christmas week YAY! Here are some tips on how to get your skin glowing just in time for the weekend.

Exfoliate it off:

Do a gentle exfolaition with an AHA or BHA product to remove dead skin build up. Products work better into the skin when dead skin cells have been removed. Scrubs can be too harsh on the skin and cause damage over time.

Boil the kettle and steam your face over a large bowl for a few minutes without putting your face too close. This will allow for follices to open and a good detoxification for the skin. Products like serums and masks will work better into the skin after steaming.

Face mask:

Sheet masks are my go-to for a quick glow! After exfoliating apply some serum and then pop on a sheet mask which you can pick up anywhere these days. Leave on for 20-30 mins and massage in the excess afterwards, follow with a moisturiser.

Eye Mask:

Masks specifically for the delicate under eye area. These are a must for tired eyes! Make-up will sit better on the skin after using these. Put on before sheet face mask or regular mask. Leave for 20 mins.

Last minute Facial:

If you don't have time for a full facial then just go for a quick boost. Facials stimulate the circulation in the skin, bringing healthy blood to the surface- resulting in a brighter more plump complexion. A red light therapry facial which lasts around 30 mins would be a good alternative.

Eat and Sleep well:

Our skin heals itself as we sleep so the more snooze you get the better for you and your skin. Eating well will also show on your skin so although we are going to totally indulge this time of year, try not to neglect yourself completely.

Drink the good stuff:

Green tea, water and green juices. These all help hydrate the skin from the inside out. Our skin gets dehydrated and dry from alcohol which can leave us looking haggered. Stock up on the good stuff inbetween your prosecco so you are not left looking like a rasin coming into 2018!

Hydrate and plump:

Use good serums under your day and night cream and make sure they contain hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, peptides or stem cells.
